Vessel Safety Check Program

VSC graphic- 2005

At your request, we can perform a Vessel Safety Check. The VSC is an free audit of the safety equipment on your boat. Only you are told of the results - no reports are filed.

A Vessel Examiner talks with a boat owner during a
 Vessel Safety Check

We check to see that your boat will meet all legal requirements, but do it in a non-law enforcement environment. This helps you ensure your boat could not subject you to a fine if you were later boarded while underway, since we can tell you during the VSC what is needed to go out on the water safely.

If your boat passes, you get a decal placed on your boat to tell others you have passed the safety check. If it doesn't pass, you (and only you) get a list of what is needed to bring your boat up to snuff. Our examiners will advise you about important safety equipment which will allow you to boat with confidence.

Vessel safety checks can be done at any location in the Sayreville or Raritan Bay area.
