Basic / Advanced Coastal Navigation

These courses are comprehensive courses to prepare the boater with the knowledge needed to safely pilot a boat.  Both courses include: terminology and definitions; in-depth discussion of the magnetic compass; the nautical chart; navigator’s tools and instruments; dead reckoning; and piloting.  ACN adds lessons on the impact of current, tides and tidal currents, radio navigation, and voyage planning.
